October 15

There are a few dates during the calendar year that I love:

August 1 - Austin's birthday
September 25 - Shawna's birthday
May 5 - Our anniversary
November 12 - My birthday
December 25 - Christmas

and....today, October 15.

October 15 each year marks the first day that college basketball teams all over the country can begin official practices. It also means that I am about to come down with a serious case of basketball fever.

Last night we had the opportunity to get together with many of the ex-ACU women's basketball players over the past few years. We had a blast telling stories about funny events in the past - most of which occured off the court. Here's a picture of that group from last night. Happy October 15!!

Missing Austin

This week has been a little tougher than I thought it would be. Shawna and I met my parents halfway between Abilene and Ft. Worth and they took Austin to Ft. Worth for the week. They will bring him back on Friday night and stay the weekend with us. Austin will have his baby blessing at Highland on Sunday morning during early service.

Shawna and I took advantage of our time alone to go to dinner and a movie last night. We went to Copper Creek and had great seafood and then went to see Little Miss Sunshine -- quite possibly one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. The ending was absolutely hilarious. I highly recommend it.

Austin had his 2 month check up on Monday night. His height is in the 25%, his weight in the 50% and his hair is most likely in the 100%! Here are a couple of pictures of my little man...courtesy of Debbie Riggs - the best photographer in Abilene!
