What not to say if you are a pilot.....
Yesterday afternoon, I was was travelling back to Abilene from Colorado Springs, CO. The flight from DFW to Abilene was delayed. After almost an hour of waiting, the plane finally showed up and everyone boarded. For those of you that have flown between DFW and Abilene, you've probably experienced the joy of flying in a SAAB 340 prop plane. That was the plane I was on yesterday.
After boarding the plane, the pilot comes on the PA system and says,
"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. This is Captain McElroy and I want to apologize for the delay here at DFW airport. This airplane has had a few mecahnical issues of late and we just pulled it out of the shop for this flight. Before allowing you to board the plane, we took it up for a test flight to make sure everything was running smoothly. It looks like everything is functioning properly and we'll have you to Abilene in about 45 minutes. I encourage you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the short flight to Abilene."
Yeah, right!
